![]() NEW JERSEY'S EXPORT GROWTH EXCEEDS NATIONAL GROWTH RATE IN 2007
Official international trade statistics for 2007 showed that the State of New Jersey's exports grew faster than the national rate. Between 2006 and 2007, the Garden State's exports increased by 12.8 percent, exceeding the national average growth rate of 12.1 percent. As the ninth largest exporting state in the nation, New Jersey exported $30.5 billion in goods last year - an increase of $3.5 billion over 2006 levels. New Jersey's greatest export gains from 2006 to 2007 were with Israel (195 percent increase), South Africa (60 percent increase), and India (51 percent). Exports in 2007 to Italy, Japan, and Singapore also increased by more than 25 percent over 2006 levels. Official statistics also show that exports support more than 366,000 jobs throughout the Garden State. 6th Update April 16, 2008
